Why We Started
Our founder and CEO, Caleb Hicks, started SchoolAI after years in the classroom, at instructional design teams at Apple, and building learning programs across the country. But it all began with 320 middle schoolers and one huge problem鈥搊nly the loudest or the most challenging got noticed. The rest didn鈥檛 receive enough personalized instruction or connection.
That experience sparked a lifelong mission: help every teacher see and support every student, at the exact moment they need it.
AI makes this possible. SchoolAI launched in classrooms in 2023, and the results were immediate鈥攎ore engagement, deeper connections, everyday usage, and stories from students that teachers might never have otherwise heard.
